At De Rust Hatchery no fish leaves the premises without the correct permits. From experience in the aquatic industry we are knowledgeable in the permit requirements and the application processes and are thus able to conduct the relevant applications in the most effective manner. If fish need to be transported outside of the Western Cape region, you have to complete the permit applications yourself.

Each Grass Carp is micro – magnetically coded and each shipment of fish is accompanied by the necessary sterility certification and permits as required by the various Provincial Authorities.

Grass carp is an exotic fish species and should be utilized with care. Furthermore grass carp should not be confused with other carp species which occur in South Africa. Following is the differences between grass carp and other carp species.
